About Equine Software Group

Equine Software Group is building a connected software ecosystem for the global equestrian industry. Through Hopoti, Hippocrates and Equilab, we support more than 1.6 million riders and approximately 600 equestrian businesses across Europe, North America and other international markets.

Our products help riding schools, professional stables and equine service providers manage lessons, bookings, payments, horse care and communication while helping riders track their training, connect with their stables and participate more fully in equestrian life.

We focus on sustainable growth, strong products and creating lasting value for our customers, riders and horses.

The opportunity

We are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on VP of Marketing to build and lead marketing across Equine Software Group and its portfolio companies. This is a holding company (HoldCo) position.

This is a distinctive B2B2C marketing challenge. We need to reach and convert equestrian businesses, while also growing and engaging a large consumer community of riders. These two sides should reinforce one another: businesses introduce riders to our ecosystem, and our rider network helps us generate awareness, referrals and demand among equestrian professionals.

We are a lean, entrepreneurial organization with disciplined budgets. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between strategy, analysis and hands-on delivery which would include building campaigns, improving funnels, refining messaging and testing new channels alongside a small team.

The role reports directly to the CEO and CRO and will work closely with the leaders of Hopoti, Hippocrates and Equilab.

What you will do

Build the group’s growth strategy

  • Develop and own an integrated B2B2C marketing strategy across Equine Software Group, Hopoti, Hippocrates and Equilab.
  • Translate the group’s commercial objectives into clear acquisition, engagement, retention and revenue targets.
  • Determine where the group should share capabilities, data and channels while preserving the strength and relevance of each product brand.
  • Build a practical marketing roadmap that prioritizes the initiatives with the greatest commercial impact.
  • Establish clear attribution, reporting and accountability across the marketing funnel.

Drive B2B customer acquisition

  • Build repeatable demand-generation programs for riding schools, professional stables, instructors and other equestrian businesses.
  • Strengthen the full journey from awareness and lead generation through demo, conversion, onboarding and expansion.
  • Work closely with sales and local market teams to improve lead quality, conversion rates, sales enablement and follow-up.
  • Develop segment-specific positioning, campaigns and content for different customer groups and geographies.
  • Build an effective mix of inbound, outbound, partnerships, referrals, events, content and targeted paid acquisition.
  • Help establish Equine Software Group and its portfolio companies as trusted authorities within the equestrian industry.

Accelerate B2C rider growth and engagement

  • Lead consumer growth strategy for Equilab and the broader rider ecosystem.
  • Improve rider acquisition, activation, engagement, subscription conversion and retention.
  • Develop lifecycle and CRM programs that help riders discover value at every stage of their journey.
  • Strengthen community, referral and ambassador-led growth.
  • Use rider behavior and customer insights to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Build effective connections between riders and the equestrian businesses they use.

Create the B2B2C growth loop

  • Turn riding schools and professional stables into scalable distribution channels for rider adoption.
  • Use the rider community to create awareness, referrals and qualified opportunities for our business products.
  • Develop campaigns and product-led journeys that connect businesses, riders and horses across the portfolio.
  • Work with product and commercial teams to test cross-product adoption, bundled offerings and shared customer experiences.
  • Define and measure how each side of the ecosystem contributes to the growth of the other.

Strengthen positioning and brand

  • Sharpen the positioning and value proposition of the group and each portfolio company.
  • Ensure our messaging is commercially effective, customer-led and grounded in the realities of running an equestrian business.
  • Oversee websites, campaigns, content, social media, communications, partnerships and industry events.
  • Build a consistent narrative while respecting the different audiences, histories and market positions of each brand.
  • Bring customer stories, commercial proof points and product value to the center of our marketing.

Build a high-performing, resourceful marketing function

  • Assess the existing marketing capabilities across the portfolio and determine what should be centralized, embedded or outsourced.
  • Lead and develop a small team of internal marketers and selected external specialists.
  • Introduce clear priorities, operating rhythms, KPIs and performance standards.
  • Build lightweight, scalable systems for campaign execution, experimentation and reporting.
  • Manage budgets carefully and direct resources toward measurable growth.
  • Be willing to execute personally when that is the fastest or most effective way to move an initiative forward.

What we are looking for

  • Significant experience leading growth or marketing for a software, marketplace, subscription or digitally enabled consumer business.
  • Strong experience across both B2B and B2C marketing, ideally within a B2B2C, marketplace or ecosystem model.
  • A track record of improving acquisition, activation, conversion, engagement and retention.
  • Deep understanding of performance marketing, CRM, lifecycle marketing, analytics and experimentation.
  • Experience building measurable demand-generation programs in partnership with sales.
  • Strong commercial judgment and comfort owning targets tied to pipeline, revenue and customer growth.
  • The ability to turn customer insight and data into clear priorities and effective campaigns.
  • Experience working across multiple products, brands, markets or geographies.
  • A willingness to work hands-on, especially while building the team and operating model.
  • Comfort working with modest budgets, making thoughtful trade-offs and finding creative ways to generate impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative, low-ego leadership style and the ability to work effectively with founders, product leaders and local operating teams.
  • Based on the US East Coast or in London.

Experience in the equestrian industry is welcome but not required.

What success could look like

During the first 12 months, the VP of Marketing will have:

  • Established a clear group-wide B2B2C marketing strategy and operating model.
  • Created reliable reporting across acquisition, pipeline, conversion, engagement and retention.
  • Improved the quality and consistency of B2B demand generation across priority markets.
  • Strengthened rider acquisition, activation and retention for Equilab.
  • Launched measurable growth loops between our business platforms and rider community.
  • Clarified the positioning of Equine Software Group and each portfolio company.
  • Built a focused, accountable and resourceful marketing organization.
  • Demonstrated measurable improvement in customer growth, rider engagement and marketing efficiency.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on finance leader to build the holding company (HoldCo) finance function and raise the standard of finance across Equine Software Group and its portfolio companies. With companies in the US, the UK and Europe, cross-border tax and finance knowledge is key to this role.

This is a broad role. One day you may be preparing the annual group audit, the next rolling out an expense automation tool at Hopoti, and the day after working on a group debt facility. You will work directly with the founders and managing directors of our portfolio companies and play a central part in how the group acquires, integrates and funds new businesses.

We are a lean organization with disciplined budgets. We would rather build a good system than hire around a bad one, so you will care about automation and AI tooling and be willing to build it yourself.

This is an early role with a clear path to growing into Group CFO as the group expands.

What you will do

Build the group finance function

  • Build and run the holding company finance function from scratch, covering reporting, consolidation, treasury management and the annual group audit.
  • Put clear, reliable group reporting in place across Hopoti, Hippocrates and Equilab.
  • Introduce finance processes and controls that scale as the group grows.
  • Own cross-border tax and finance across the group’s US, UK and European entities, including group structure, intercompany arrangements, transfer pricing and tax compliance, working with external advisors where needed.

Integrate acquisitions and create value

  • Lead the operational and financial integration of every acquisition.
  • Deliver the value creation initiatives identified during due diligence.

Partner with our portfolio companies

  • Act as fractional CFO and sparring partner to the founders and managing directors of our portfolio companies.
  • Share finance best practice across the group and raise the standard everywhere.

Fund the group’s growth

  • Play a central role in fundraising, on both the debt and equity sides.

Automate the finance stack

  • Automate the group’s finance stack using the best software and AI tooling available.
  • Get into the detail of implementing tools across the portfolio companies yourself.

What we are looking for

  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset.
  • Strong cross-border tax and finance knowledge, key to this role: experience with multi-entity groups across the US, the UK and Europe, including international tax, transfer pricing, intercompany accounting and consolidation in more than one currency.
  • Around 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally trained at an international audit firm or in transaction services, followed by time in a finance function at a start-up, scale-up or buy-and-build group.
  • A proven ability to drive change, implement new processes and raise standards, with the appetite to build and lead a team as the group grows.
  • Comfort in an entrepreneurial environment where no two days are the same.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. You will spend a lot of time with founders and management teams across different countries, helping them do a better job by improving their finance functions.
  • A real interest in automation and AI tooling, and the willingness to get into the detail of building it.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Swedish is a plus but not required.
  • Based on the US East Coast or in London, with regular travel to our group companies.

Experience in the equestrian industry is welcome but not required.

What success could look like

During the first 12 months, the VP of Finance will have:

  • Established a working holding company finance function, with reliable monthly group reporting and consolidation.
  • Completed the annual group audit smoothly.
  • Put a clear integration playbook in place for future acquisitions.
  • Automated key finance processes across the group.
  • Supported at least one debt or equity fundraising process.
  • Become a trusted finance partner to the leaders of Hopoti, Hippocrates and Equilab.

What we offer

  • A performance bonus and meaningful equity in the holding company, alongside the founding team.
  • A long-term opportunity to grow into the Group CFO role.
  • Direct exposure to M&A, fundraising and operations, and the chance to shape the group’s path as an early joiner.
  • A fun, entrepreneurial environment with an office in London.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to build the finance function of a growing international software group serving an industry with enormous passion, strong communities and significant untapped potential.

You will help shape how the group acquires, integrates and grows its businesses, and contribute directly to our ambition of creating a more connected equestrian industry.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior PHP Engineer to take ownership of the Hippocrates platform.

Hippocrates serves riding schools, professional stables and mobile equine professionals with three established products: Academy, ProStable and nextGen, plus the myHippo customer portal. The platform is revenue generating, stable and well documented, with a modern Laravel and React booking application already in place alongside larger legacy applications.

Our founding developer, who wrote most of the codebase, will be leaving at the end of 2026. You will join while he is still here, learn the system from him directly and become the engineer who owns its future. This means keeping the platform secure and reliable, raising engineering standards and modernizing it step by step, not starting again from scratch.

The role works closely with group leadership and the product and engineering teams across Equine Software Group.

What you will do

Take ownership of the platform

  • Work alongside the founding developer through a structured handover, then take over technical ownership of the Hippocrates codebase.
  • Become the go-to person for architecture, technical decisions and production issues.
  • Keep documentation, architecture notes and operations runbooks accurate and current.

Strengthen security and reliability

  • Lead security improvements across the platform, with a particular focus on payment and authentication flows.
  • Apply secure coding practice in line with the OWASP Top 10 and ASVS.
  • Make sure payment processing is correct, consistent and resilient under error conditions.
  • Harden infrastructure and configuration alongside our hosting and DevOps setup.

Raise engineering standards

  • Build automated test coverage for authentication, booking and payment logic, and run it in CI.
  • Break up large classes, remove dead code and consolidate duplicated logic.
  • Introduce dependency and secret scanning, code review and clear release practices.

Modernize step by step

  • Continue building out the modern Laravel and React booking application.
  • Maintain and harden the legacy procedural PHP applications while gradually moving functionality onto the modern stack.
  • Bring business logic and stored procedures under source control and test coverage.
  • Design APIs and integration points that connect Hippocrates with the other products in the group.

What we are looking for

  • At least 6 years of professional PHP experience, including modern PHP 8 and Laravel.
  • Experience maintaining and improving large legacy PHP codebases, including procedural code written without a framework.
  • Strong SQL skills, ideally with Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, query performance and indexing.
  • A solid grounding in web application security and the OWASP Top 10.
  • Experience with payment integrations, webhooks and transactional data where correctness matters.
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit and running them in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfort with Windows Server and IIS hosting, Cloudflare, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Working knowledge of React and TypeScript.
  • Good judgment about when to refactor, when to rebuild and when to leave something alone.
  • Clear written communication and the discipline to document decisions.
  • Comfort using AI coding tools to work faster and understand unfamiliar code.
  • Fluency in English. Swedish is a strong plus, as many customers, integrations and parts of the codebase are Swedish.
  • Based in Sweden or Poland.

Experience in the equestrian industry is welcome but not required.

What success could look like

During the first 12 months, the Senior PHP Engineer will have:

  • Completed a thorough handover and become the technical owner of the Hippocrates platform.
  • Delivered the priority security and payment-integrity improvements.
  • Put meaningful automated test coverage in place for payments, authentication and booking.
  • Brought architecture and operations documentation fully up to date.
  • Agreed and started a practical modernization and integration roadmap for the platform.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established, revenue-generating platform used every day by hundreds of equestrian businesses, at a time when it is ready for its next stage.

You will have real autonomy, a well documented codebase to start from and the chance to shape how Hippocrates grows within a connected international software group.

We are looking for a creative, commercially minded Social Media Strategist to grow our presence in the US equestrian community on a part-time basis.

The US is one of our most important growth markets. We want to reach two audiences: equestrian businesses such as riding schools, boarding stables and trainers, and the riders who train with them. Social media is where both communities spend time, share their passion and discover new tools.

You will shape and run our US social media strategy, create content that feels authentic to horse people and turn attention into real results: followers, engagement, leads and new customers. We are a lean, entrepreneurial organization with a modest budget, so we are looking for someone who can both plan and execute.

Grow and engage the community

  • Respond to comments and messages, and take part in relevant equestrian groups and conversations.
  • Build relationships with US equestrian influencers, trainers, barns and associations.
  • Run collaborations, giveaways and user-generated content campaigns.
  • Promote our presence at US horse shows and industry events.

Drive commercial results

  • Support lead generation for our sales team, including targeted campaigns for stable owners and riding school managers.
  • Plan and manage small paid social campaigns and test what works.
  • Report monthly on results and recommend where to focus next.

What we are looking for

  • At least 3 years of experience managing social media for a brand, ideally including B2B or B2B2C audiences.
  • A track record of growing engaged audiences and turning social activity into measurable results.
  • Strong content creation skills, especially short-form video.
  • Excellent writing skills and a natural feel for the tone of different platforms.
  • Experience with scheduling and analytics tools such as Meta Business Suite, Later or Buffer.
  • Experience running small, efficient paid social campaigns.
  • Self-motivated, organized and comfortable working independently and remotely.
  • Working remotely from the United States.

A personal connection to horses and the US equestrian community is a strong plus. Understanding of the culture, disciplines and calendar of the horse world will help you create content that resonates.

What success could look like

During the first 12 months, the Social Media Strategist will have:

  • Established a clear, consistent US social media presence and content rhythm.
  • Grown followers and engagement across priority channels.
  • Built a network of US equestrian influencers, partners and customer advocates.
